Are you looking for a challenging and exciting role leading the development and implementation of our organisational media and communication strategy?
The Senior Media Advisor provides media and communications management, advice and strategic support to the CEO to ensure organisational objectives are achieved through targeted engagement with industry, governments and the training sector to advance workforce skills issues.
The position plays a key role to ensure Industry Skills Australia (ISA) is engaged throughout the supply chain industries (transport and logistics, rail, maritime and aviation) and the emerging industries of space transport and omni-channel distribution.
THE SENIOR MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS ADVISOR WILL:
- provide strategic advice and support to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive
- establishing, reviewing and regularly evolving key messages for the Executive, Board and staff
- identify opportunities and implement plans to extend the reach and brand awareness of ISA
- create innovative and engaging content for speeches, presentations, and media releases
- maintain active relationships with key media and communications
- supported by an external media monitoring service, daily monitoring and tracking of media relevant to the organisation and our responsible industries including monitoring and tracking ISA’ presence in the media
- provide communications and engagement support for internal and external events
IDEAL CANDIDATE
You will have:
- at least 5 years experience in media relations as demonstrated in previous roles within an industry and government context
- a qualification in communication, journalism, public relations, media or related discipline
- highly developed media management skills with a demonstrated ability to anticipate, plan for and deliver proactive media strategies
- an influential communication style that adapts to and connects with different audiences
- high level verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
- demonstrated ability to build effective relationships across a range of diverse stakeholders to promote trust and understanding
- strong experience in proactive and reactive media relations and communications to build and protect the organisation's reputation and support critical projects and stakeholders.
- demonstrated planning and organisational skills, with the ability to lead a number of deliverables at one time, achieve required outcomes and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
