Exciting Defence sector opportunity for experienced Storeperson!

Your new company
We are currently recruiting on behalf of an international defence organisation who are seeking to engage an experienced storeperson to join their team in Rockingham to begin with on a 3-months basis. The purpose of the Stores and Logistics Officer is to support the inventory holding of the companies assets.

Your new role

- Being a key member to the Integrated Inventory service team delivering optimal logistic outcomes
- Undertake receipt and despatch duties including PHST requirements and manual handling
- Operate material handling equipment such as Walkie-Stacker and pallet trolley
- Undertake accurate equipment auditing as instructed
- Maintain and update ERP databases and documentation control pertaining to receipt inspection and deliveries
- Liaise with external freight and customs clearance companies to ensure delivery schedules and budgets are met
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- As directed by the Services Manager, prioritise work task requirements to optimise project needs
- Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, safety and duty of care and the quality management system
- Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll need to succeed

- Experience in store and warehouse operations




- Computer proficiency in using ERP software and Microsoft Office
- Understanding of quality control processes and Work Health Safety (WHS) practices.
- Experience in Defence Logistics and understanding of DEF-AUST 1000C desirable
- Understanding of Department of Defence Warehouse and Distribution processes
- Ability to work within a team environment and independently
- Experience in Defence database utilisation such as MILIS- desirable
- Adherence to Secure Work Practices
- Proven ability to adhere to company policy
- Ability to undertake tasks with minimal supervision whilst maintaining communication with Supervisor
- Manages self in terms of time and process, exercises initiative, completes tasks in a competent and timely manner and demonstrates professional ethics
- Demonstrates a timely and professional attitude
