The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Energy Services Asset Development team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Mechanical Engineer . As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

This detail orientated role exists to provide mechanical engineering expertise and support to develop, assess and implement improvement opportunities across the Energy Services business which comprises an industrial power station and all the major services infrastructure. Additionally, the role provides engineering technical design and project management skills to meet department needs.

What will you do?

Being key to this role, you will:

- provide technical engineering advice regarding suitable solutions for equipment remediation and life extension.
- assist with mechanical solutions for capital projects.
- deliver all engineering solutions and services to agreed schedules.
- provide quality, cost effective engineering solutions that meet process functional requirements and operating plant life.
- use RCA methodology to eliminate and/or improve recurring and difficult problems and risks

More about you

Supported by a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree , you will have experience in applying your engineering knowledge within a heavy industrial environment.

Ideally you will bring:

- proven knowledge and a track record of mechanical engineering design and genuine interest in precision engineering designs, including the completion and checking of detailed calculations;
- a general knowledge of Inventor and AUTOCAD as well as other engineering analysis packages;




- understanding of broader engineering requirements and the influence on designs.
- strong safety focus; and strong relationship building and the ability to work collaboratively with a team and many customers.
