The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Plate Processing team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator . As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

What Will You Do?

Reporting to the Asset Manager, you will provide clear and effective leadership to a high performing mechanical maintenance team in a energetic and exciting manufacturing environment, ensuring that equipment is maintained to maximise up-time performance and improve plant condition in a cost-effective, safe, and environmentally responsible manner using our maintenance management systems and your exceptional technical expertise. By doing so, you will:

- manage team members in performance, timekeeping, leave, training, and personal development
- plan, organise, safely execute, and deliver maintenance outcomes in the areas of safety, cost, efficiency, and strategy
- manage the overall asset strategy to ensure that maintenance activities are aligned with business requirements




- implement spares strategy to ensure the timely purchase and/or refurbishment of spare parts and the upkeep of critical spare levels.
- ensure quality of critical equipment inspections and provide coaching and assistance with fault finding and root cause analysis.
- establish a culture of continuous improvement to improve team performance

More About You

As an experienced and motivated leader with a strong maintenance background. You will have:

- mechanical trade or engineering

qualifications

- experience in a heavy industrial environment
- experience with or the ability to manage maintenance work teams
- competence in the application of maintenance management systems and processes
- effective communication skills, influencing ability and sound decision-making skills
