We are a small manufacturing business specialising in steel, sheet metal and stainless-steel fabrication. We have an established customer base throughout Southeast Queensland supplying to the commercial and residential building industry. We have exciting projects ahead of us and looking to expand our team.

As our Estimator, some of your duties will include:

- Working closely with our Lead Estimator.
- Prepare accurate, detailed estimates in accordance with estimating procedures, standards and practices for small and large projects and issue tender documentation
- Analyse plans, schedules and specifications to determine time, cost and labour requirements for projects
- Calculate direct and indirect costs from a first principle basis or factored as applicable
- Visit work sites and develop professional relationships to understand projects and facilitate the estimating process
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities in new projects through application of the estimating and submission process
- Draft workshop drawings and liaise with production staff.

About You





- Trade background in the steel and sheet metal fabrication industry - Stainless steel background would be advantageous
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Commercial acumen and excellent attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and estimating software packages or high competency in computer skills
- Team player
- Drivers License essential
- Be able to pass background security checks for access to high security facilities.

The successful applicant will be responsible for drawing up tenders that we submit to clients. You will determine the price and schedule for the work in collaboration with our Lead Estimator and Management. You will seek out tenders announced to the market and select the competitions for tendering in line with our current workload. You will be able to rely on our current customer base for ongoing work while also seeking out new challenges for the team.
