An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, agile, experienced Financial Controller to join the Global Health team.
This is a full-time position with flexible hybrid style to balance between home and CBD office locations across working days.

About The Role
Working in a small team and having exposure to key members of the Executive, the Financial Controller is a key member of the Finance Team. This role is responsible to develop and manage the accounting and taxation requirements of the Company. You will provide financial advice to the Board of Directors and to ensure the accounting, financial, taxation and administrative functions of the Company are effectively implemented. The Financial Controller’s powers are subject to the overriding control and direction of the Board of Directors.
Duties include:
- Prepare monthly management accounts for the Board of Directors providing an overview of the Company’s position.
- Preparation of statutory accounts
- Prepare annual budgets.
- Manage the cashflow of the business
- Manage debt levels of the business.
- Manage the taxation requirements of the business.
- Evaluate the on-going financial performance of the business including monitoring monthly financial achievements against budgeted performance.
- Ensure financial and accounting procedures are adequate and effective.
- Control and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Attend all board meetings when requested.
- Liaise with insurers, external accountants and auditors, lawyers and banks, ASX, share registry and other regulatory bodies.
- Supervision of accounting staff and contractors within the organisation
- Conduct annual performance reviews of staff in accordance with the policies of the organisation.
- Ad hoc projects
- Work according to the Company’s policies and processes
- Other duties as directed
Attention to detail as well as excellent communication and computer literacy skills is essential. A recognised accounting qualification or currently studying to achieve one an advantage. Experience using Xero plus previous software development or healthcare industry exposure viewed favourably.
The successful candidate will be based in Melbourne, Australia with the appropriate qualifications and eligibility for employment in Australia.
