SME FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

SALARY:

Impressive salary on offer - $110k - $120k neg + Super + Bonus Potential (pro rata - full time equivalent salary).

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for an organisation that will provide great flexibility and ownership of the role. As leader of the team in the finance function, this position will provide assistance to bookkeeping and full accounting support to deliver quality and most importantly – accurate reporting.

The successful candidate will understand that as an SME with revenues between $10m-$20m (and growing consistently year on year), we require someone who is hands on and happy to roll up their sleeves but also able to hit the ground running and make an impact early.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key responsibilities as Financial Controller will include:

- Preparation of year end Financial Statements
- Processing of month end Balance Sheet reconciliation
- Monthly BAS,



GST and Payroll Tax for Group Accounts
- FBT preparation and submission
- Workers Comp (Estimates & Actuals)
- Insurance Compliance
- Accounts Payable and Creditor Management, with assistance of external AP Officer
- Preparation of Monthly P&L; and reporting to key Shareholders
- Advising and contributing to the Payroll function when required
- General Ledger reconciliations
- Strong understanding of GJ Accrual entries including insurances, SL, AL and depreciation
- Maintenance of Asset register, GJ entries, including depreciation schedules
- Problem solving for Xero related Payroll or AR/AP queries from Team

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CA or CPA Qualified
- Advanced experience with Financial Return preparation and Income Tax Accounting
- Experience with hands-on bookkeeping to provide back-up to our bookkeeping/admin team where necessary. This will be covering any labour transitions
- Xero Expert
- Exposure to SimPRO is ideal although not a deal breaker
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Strong experience using new technologies and automated software
- Attention to detail with a high level of accountability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Extensive experience in reconciling GL’s across financials
- Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Group Account experience
