To support the continued growth of our Australian Medicinal Cannabis business, Kind Medical, Altum International is seeking a full-time Medical Education Specialist to become a champion of Kind’s medicinal cannabis range in support of our customers (healthcare professionals and their patients) across Australia.

Reporting to the Sales Manager and working closely with the broader sales and marketing teams, the Medical Education Specialist will drive direct medical sales activity for Kind Medical through exceptional organisation, communication, and relationship management skills, evidenced by prior experience in customer or healthcare professional facing roles. Leveraging a foundation in pharmaceutical sales and/or medical sciences, you will build an in-depth knowledge of our range of medical products, our customers and broader industry to ensure the education and training of health professionals on the technical and medicinal values of our products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Medical Sales (90%)

- Execute a high volume of direct medical sales lead identification and outreach, with a focus on the East Coast of Australia




- Drive healthcare professional onboarding and continuing education through in-person and virtual education sessions, industry events and other channels. This may involve regional travel on a periodic basis, requiring independent planning
- Support the development and implementation of medical education and primary research initiatives
- Conduct research and assessment of the therapeutic value of products, both existing and potential, and communicate outcomes with internal stakeholders and healthcare professionals
- Assist with prioritisation of sales team activity through our sales funnel and CRM management rhythms
- Maintain a clear and accurate record of sales activity within our CRM and other reporting tools to enable consistent and focused evaluation of performance against business goals
- Assist in the ongoing refinement of Altum’s sales strategy and processes. Identify and implement continuous improvements
- Consistently share knowledge gained from customer interaction and work cross-functionally in delivering market-facing initiatives

Sales Operations (10%)

- Support management of Kind Medical’s inbound customer contact channels including phone, email and kind.com.au webform, as needed
- Assist with healthcare practitioner and patient support tasks, including inbound enquiries, monitoring feedback and returns, and other ad-hoc tasks




- Support aspects of commercial analysis and reporting, garnering insight from direct sales activity and actual sales performance

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KEY CRITERIA

- Education : A bachelor’s degree in a Healthcare, Medical Science, or another applicable field of study. Relevant post-graduate qualifications will be favourable
- Experience : Sales experience in customer or healthcare professional facing role/s within similar industries (e.g., Pharmaceuticals, Health & Wellness, Consumer Products), consulting, and/or a high-growth business setting
- Qualifications : This role will be required to undertake coursework and achieve certification in Medicines Australia Code of Conduct curriculum. Prior attainment of this certification or equivalent knowledge will be favourable
- Travel : This role may involve independent and team travel within Australia to meet sales objectives. Comfortability with planning and conducting regional travel will be required
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal; you understand the needs of stakeholders and can tailor succinct messaging to suit them and the context
- Superior relationship building skills; you enjoy meeting new people and finding common ground through utilising a high EQ
- Digitally enabled and comfortable with Google Suite, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with HubSpot or other CRM systems is a plus
