Who is AEMO?
We are the Australian Energy Market Operator. AEMO’s role is to design and operate a sustainable energy system that provides safe, reliable, and affordable electricity and gas today, and to enable the energy transition for the benefit of all Australians. All Australian governments are now committed to a net-zero economy for Australia by 2050, the first step of which is a net-zero energy system. We are collaborating with industry and other stakeholders to engineer electricity grids that can handle 100 per cent instantaneous renewable generation by 2025. AEMO also plays a significant role in the east coast gas market, which has recently expanded to assessing if there is enough natural gas for customers, including electricity generators. About The Role
The Enterprise Data Services (EDS) division within Digital provides essential and strategic support for enabling AEMO wide data services and data analytics and visualisation. The Power BI developer role is to support business teams that utilise Power BI through maintenance, augmentation of existing reports and providing technical support and advice to AEMO teams to enable a stronger capability and utilisation of Power BI reports.

What You Will Be Doing
The Power BI Developer is responsible for ensuring that relevant insights are conveyed to the business using an appropriate and cost-effective solution in a method which is transparent, concise, and easy to understand.
Working across all stakeholder groups across the business, gathering requirements and delivering reporting and visualisation solutions.
Responsible for helping business SMEs maintain existing reports, troubleshoot issues that are raised and respond to ServiceNow tickets promptly.
Provide expert knowledge and guidance relating to data analysis and presentation to various stakeholders.
Develop reporting, analytics and dashboard solutions that sit on top of multiple different protocols with internal and external facing reports.
Working in a cross-functional team of data engineers, cyber security experts and business analysts, taking a leading role in the development of solutions that sit across multiple ETL pipelines.
Monitor existing reports utilisation, suggest and develop KPIs to assist with managing usership of Power BI, leading forums where appropriate 8. Supports the development and ongoing execution of AEMO’s Data Strategy
What You Will Bring To The Role
Tertiary degree in relevant STEM field
Min 2 years professional experience developing and supporting Power BI reports for business teams
Strong stakeholder management experience with both excellent written and verbal communication skills
Min 5 years experience in working with data models and complex datasets using Power Query, SQL or other related languages
Demonstrated experience working in a data products delivery team
Experience with Python programming for data and/or use of data management and quality tools such as Ataccama or Collibra will be viewed favourably along with experience in the energy industry
