Redpath Mining is currently seeking an experienced Comms Tech to work on our Sandvik AutoMine System with an Electrical or Auto Electrical trade background to support autonomous underground mining operations at the Cowal Gold Mine.
This role is offered on a FIFO 14 days on / 14 days off roster, providing an excellent work-life balance while working on a leading autonomous gold mining project.
About the Role
You will be responsible for supporting the commissioning, operation, and optimisation of Sandvik AutoMine systems, ensuring secure and efficient autonomous equipment performance underground.
Responsibilities
Key Duties
- Support day-to-day operation and optimisation of Sandvik AutoMine systems
- Electrical fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on Sandvik autonomous equipment
- Troubleshoot automation hardware, sensors, networks, and control systems
- Assist with system upgrades, software updates, and configuration changes
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, and OEM representatives
- Promote and maintain high safety and operational standards onsite
Skills & Experience
- Australian recognised Electrical Trade Qualification or Auto Electrician Qualification
- Proven experience with Sandvik AutoMine
- Underground mining experience
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently in a FIFO environment
- Strong safety focus and communication skills
Qualifications
Highly Regarded
- Experience on Sandvik loaders or drills
- OEM or AutoMine specialist background
- Exposure to PLCs, automation, or networked systems
- Experience on major underground mining projects
