About the role
MSS Security is seeking a Court Security Officer to join our team at a Melbourne Court. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of court staff, visitors and the public.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Conduct security screenings for court staff and visitors.
- Operate security systems, including metal detectors and x-ray machines to identify potential risks or prohibited items.
- Perform scans and thorough bag searches when necessary to ensure compliance with court regulations.
- Monitor courtrooms during hearings.
- Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents or emergencies.
- Provide a high standard of customer service to court staff and visitors.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Previous experience in security or a related field (highly desirable).
- Excellent communication skills,
with the ability to deescalate tense situations.
- A readiness, confidence and assertiveness to manage challenging situations.
Requirements:
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
- Valid Victorian Security Licence with the control room subcategory.
- Valid Victorian Drivers Licence.
- Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain).
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certificates (or willing to obtain).
- Willing to undergo a National Police Check.
- 24/7 Availability.
