Role Overview
This is a Financial Accountant role responsible for supporting financial operations across multiple entities within a shared services environment.
The role owns the month-end close process, financial reporting, and audit coordination, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial information across corporate and fund structures. It also plays a key role in maintaining strong financial controls and supporting ongoing process improvement initiatives.
You will work closely with internal finance teams, external auditors, and global stakeholders in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End & Reporting
- Own the month-end close process across multiple entities
- Prepare and review journals, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers
- Maintain month-end timelines and ensure deadlines are met
- Assist with preparation of management and group reporting packs
Audit & Compliance
- Support year-end and half-year audit processes
- Coordinate audit requests and supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (AASB/IFRS) and internal controls
Operational Finance
- Review accounts payable and payment processes
- Support expense and credit card reconciliations
- Contribute to financial control and process improvement initiatives
Required Experience
- 3-5 years' experience in financial accounting or audit
- Experience with month-end close processes
- Exposure to multi-entity environments desirable
- Financial services or funds experience advantageous but not essential
Skills & Attributes
- Solid technical accounting knowledge (AASB / IFRS)
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability
- Experience with accounting systems (Xero or similar preferred)
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CA or CPA qualified (or working towards completion)
