Hillsong Global Team is seeking a Head of Information Technology to provide leadership and hands-on execution in shaping Hillsong Global’s IT strategy. This role is responsible for ensuring secure, scalable, and mission-aligned technology systems, while collaborating with ministry leaders, operational teams, and external partners to implement cutting-edge and impactful technology solutions.
If your application is successful, your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Leadership & Team Development
- Develop and execute a global IT strategy that aligns with Hillsong’s mission and operational goals.
- Establish and lead IT governance frameworks, setting policies and best practices for technology operations across all locations.
- Build and foster a growth-focused IT culture, prioritizing leadership development, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen collaboration between global and regional IT teams to promote alignment, efficiency, and shared learning.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior church leadership, ensuring IT priorities are aligned with ministry needs and global objectives.
- Clearly communicate complex technology strategies in a way that is accessible and engaging for non-technical stakeholders.
- Drive global agreement and alignment on IT priorities, including service models, cost structures, and technology adoption.
- Collaborate with ministry leaders and operational teams to understand their technology needs and implement solutions that enhance effectiveness.
- Lead strategic discussions with regional and global stakeholders to develop future technology roadmaps.
Technology Strategy & Innovation
- Develop and implement a technology roadmap that balances operational efficiency, security, and digital transformation.
- Ensure seamless integration of software and digital platforms, improving the user experience for staff, volunteers, and congregants.
- Provide oversight of global IT infrastructure and systems, ensuring they are resilient, secure, scalable, and effectively managed.
- Keep Hillsong at the forefront of emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for digital innovation and transformation.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Lead global cybersecurity efforts, working closely with regional teams to implement best practices for risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with international data protection regulations, cybersecurity frameworks, and governance standards.
- Develop and promote cybersecurity awareness training for staff and volunteers to create a culture of security.
- Proactively identify vulnerabilities and implement preventative measures to safeguard Hillsong’s digital assets.
Financial & Vendor Management
- Develop and oversee the department’s budget, ensuring financial sustainability and alignment with strategic goals.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring Hillsong is leveraging cost-effective and mission-aligned technology partnerships.
- Negotiate contracts and licensing agreements to maximize value and ensure operational effectiveness.
- Implement financial forecasting and reporting to improve transparency and accountability in IT expenditures.
Ideally, a successful candidate will have:
Education & Experience
- 10+ years of proven experience in IT leadership, strategic planning, and organizational transformation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or a related field advantageous.
- Professional IT certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ITIL, PMP, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
- Expertise in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and enterprise software platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience working in a multi-campus, international church, or nonprofit environment (highly desirable).
- Hands-on experience leading large-scale technology projects from inception to completion.
- Familiarity with global IT compliance requirements, data privacy laws, and best practices.

- Change Management & Digital Transformation – Ability to drive enterprise-wide technology programs.
- Collaboration & Influence – Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage church leaders, staff, and external partners.
