Fixed Term Contract: September 2025 – July 2026
Location: The Australian Ballet – Southbank, Melbourne (onsite role)
Interviews: Interviews will be held in late July to early August.
We’re looking for a confident HR professional to join our team on a fixed-term parental leave contract from September 2025 to July 2026. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role supporting recruitment, contracting, onboarding and employee wellbeing across the entire employment lifecycle. You’ll manage high-volume and detailed administration within a creative and dynamic environment where no two days are the same. It’s a great opportunity to work closely with managers and employees, contribute to meaningful projects, and be part of a high-performing and respected HR team at one of Australia’s most iconic performing arts organisations.
Compliance, Insights & Administration
- Manage high-volume, complex employment contracting across a diverse workforce covered by multiple EBAs, Modern Awards, and contract types
- Manage all onboarding and cross-boarding processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Coordinate key HR cycles such as contract renewals, remuneration reviews, and performance development planning
- Produce monthly reporting on contract status, visa and probation tracking, leave liabilities, and workers compensation
- Ensure 100% compliance with WWCC, police checks,
visa conditions and our safeguarding standards
- Administer and track workers compensation and injury management processes with care and attention to detail
Talent & Recruitment
- Manage end-to-end recruitment administration across a wide range of roles
- Coordinate inclusive and well-organised recruitment campaigns that reflect our values
- Contribute to strategies that increase the diversity, quality, and volume of applications
- Support initiatives that showcase our people, culture, and the experience of working at The Australian Ballet
Employee Experience & Projects
- Deliver HR inductions, site tours, and exit interviews—and report key insights to leadership
- Provide timely and practical HR support and advice across a wide range of queries
- Contribute to people and culture initiatives that support a positive, inclusive, high-performing workplace
