Information Governance Specialist | North Brisbane locations | Initial 8 week assignment Your new company
A large public-sector organisation is undertaking a targeted uplift of its Information Asset Register (IAR) and requires an experienced Information Governance Specialist to deliver this work.
Your new role
This role focusses on reviewing, improving and standardising the IAR to provide clear, enterprise-level visibility of information assets and associated risk. You will apply existing classification frameworks rather than create new policy and work closely with business stakeholders to capture accurate, meaningful asset descriptions aligned to business capabilities.

- Review the existing Information Asset Register and identify gaps, inconsistencies and outdated content.
- Uplift and standardise the IAR using the CAUDIT Business Capability Model (BCM) as the organising framework.
- Facilitate workshops with business units to identify and describe information assets
- Translate BCM descriptions into clear, business-readable asset names and summaries

What you'll need to succeed

- Strong background in information or data governance




- Demonstrated experience identifying, documenting and uplifting information assets
- Proven ability to apply an existing data classification framework (not define or redesign it)
- Familiarity with information reference models (e.g. DRM, Business Capability Models)
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Comfortable working with Cyber, Privacy, IT and Data Governance teams
- Able to operate at an enterprise level without delving into technical or field-level metadata
