The client is looking for a Core Services Specialist for a 12 month contract. Your recent role
This is a hands-on role focused on the lifecycle management, security, and operational support of core infrastructure platforms across hybrid (on-premise and cloud) environments. You will act as a technical escalation point and subject matter expert, ensuring systems are resilient, secure, and optimised.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of infrastructure systems
- Provide Level 2/3 support and lead complex troubleshooting
- Maintain secure, stable, and high-performing environments
- Support and optimise server, storage, virtualisation, and cloud platforms
- Execute patching, upgrades, and change management activities
- Contribute to automation and DevOps practices
- Develop and maintain technical standards and documentation
What you'll need to succeed
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in enterprise infrastructure support
- Expertise across:
- Microsoft ecosystem (Windows Server, Azure, Microsoft 365, Identity)
- Virtualisation (VMware) and enterprise storage
- Experience with automation tools (e.g. PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible)
- Solid understanding of networking and security principles
- Exposure to ITIL/service management environments
