About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with strong retail domain knowledge to lead and deliver technology initiatives across our client's retail business.
The role involves managing end-to-end IT projects, including POS (Point of Sale), eCommerce, ERP, CRM, supply chain, and customer data initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and seamless integration across systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage full project lifecycle delivery (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, closure).
- Work with stakeholders across retail operations, merchandising, supply chain, finance, and marketing to define requirements and priorities.
- Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Oversee vendor management, contract negotiations, and third-party solution delivery.
- Ensure successful rollout of retail technology systems such as POS, eCommerce platforms, ERP, CRM, and data analytics solutions.
- Manage risks, issues, and dependencies, providing clear communication and escalation when needed.
- Track project progress and regularly report to leadership on milestones, deliverables, and budget adherence.
- Ensure compliance with IT governance, security, and data privacy requirements.
- Drive change management and end-user adoption of new systems.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience (5–10+ years) as an IT Project Manager, ideally within the retail industry.
- Robust understanding of retail systems such as POS, eCommerce, ERP, CRM, and customer loyalty systems.
- Experience delivering projects involving customer data, digital transformation, or omni channel solutions.
- Solid project management expertise using methodologies like Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and vendor management skills.
- Strong budgeting, scheduling, and reporting capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum Master) highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards in retail.
- Exposure to AI, analytics, or automation initiatives within retail.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualifications or certifications in Project Management are a plus.
