Lead Veterinarian (12-Month Maternity Leave Cover) – MyVet Springfield Lakes | QLD

MyVet Springfield Lakes is seeking an experienced and confident Lead Veterinarian to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, commencing August 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior veterinarian to step into a leadership role within a supportive, community-focused clinic, while also mentoring junior team members and contributing to a positive and collaborative culture.

The clinic is well-equipped to support a high standard of care, including:

- Digital radiology and dental radiography
- Ultrasound
- In-house laboratory
- Fully equipped dental suite

We offer a wide range of services including general practice, surgery, dentistry, imaging, and preventative care, allowing for varied and interesting caseloads.

In this role, you will:

- Deliver exceptional care to patients in close collaboration with a skilled team




- Conduct regular consultations and perform routine surgeries
- Mentor and support a new graduate Veterinarian, fostering their growth and development
- Take a leadership role in clinic operations, guiding and inspiring team members and contributing to strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with the team to streamline processes and drive efficiency, ensuring the best possible patient outcomes
- Build strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and become a valued part of the local community
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in veterinary medicine

About you

- BVSc (or equivalent) with current registration in Queensland
- 5+ years’ clinical experience, confident in both consulting and surgery
- Previous leadership experience or a strong desire to step into a lead role
- Comfortable with sole charge (weekend roster)
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to high standards of patient care
- Passion for mentoring and supporting junior veterinarians
- A collaborative and positive approach to team culture
