HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church.

Can you offer a listening ear and a prayerful heart to someone longing to be heard?

We’re looking for a compassionate pastoral care volunteer to visit a lovely man who adores his home but feels the weight of social isolation. He is seeking someone to talk to, pray with, and share his story. Apply now and be a gentle presence to bring comfort, connection, and spiritual companionship.

You’ll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may:

* Support people to meet their spiritual needs

* Nurture spiritual development

Skills required for this role:

- High level of interpersonal skills, including robust empathy and listening skills.

- Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer.

18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare •

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
