12 month fixed term contract opportunity for a HR AdvisorMy client are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Advisor, People Operations to provide high-quality HR advice and operational support across the full employee lifecycle. This role is ideal for an experienced HR generalist or advisor who enjoys working in a quick-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and is passionate about delivering accurate, timely and compliant people services.
About the RoleThe Advisor, People Operations is responsible for delivering end-to-end people operations services, providing advice to leaders and employees on anticomplemented matters, and ensuring the accurate management of employee records and payroll processes.You will be a key point of contact for HR and payroll queries, supporting employment changes, contracts, compliance requirements and employee transactions, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the People & Culture function.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, timely and accurate advice and support on employment and people operations matters across the employee lifecycle.
- Build effective working relationships with stakeholders to meet service expectations and support positive employee experiences.
- Act as a first point of contact for payroll-related queries and employee entitlements.
- Provide training and coaching to users of HR systems to promote best practice processes and effective self-service usage.
- Maintain accurate employee records within the HR Information System (HRIS), ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- Run, review and record payroll processing and audit reports to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve pay, allowance and benefits queries.
- Prepare employment contracts in line with policy, legislative and industrial requirements.
- Administer compliance obligations,
including visa processing and right-to-work checks.
- Coordinate employee relocation processes in partnership with internal stakeholders and external providers.
- Administer payroll activities including timesheets, allowances, additional payments and leave entitlements.
- Coordinate employee cessation processes, including resignations, retirements and redundancies.
- Facilitate accurate payment of superannuation contributions.
- Support taxation and payroll reconciliation processes, reporting and electronic funds transfers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and projects within People Operations.
- Undertake other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the role.
You are a detail-oriented and service-driven HR professional who enjoys balancing accuracy with strong stakeholder engagement. You are comfortable interpreting policies and industrial instruments and supporting leaders and employees with confidence and professionalism.You will bring:
- A relevant degree, diploma or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience in human resources or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in transactional HR and people operations across the employee lifecycle.
- Proven ability to provide consistent, accurate and interpretive advice on employment conditions, entitlements and policies.
- Strong numeracy skills, attention to detail and data validation capability.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong computer literacy with HRIS
