Job Description

Our Pact Packaging division is pioneering a whole of product life cycle approach to sustainable packaging. Partnering with global brands to local producers, we integrate supply chain efficiencies and sustainable practices into everything we design and manufacture.

PACT Group’s Health and Personal Care division specialises in the manufacture and supply of environmentally friendly packaging for the beauty, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries. With a large and diverse range of SKU’s, we manufacture PET and rPET (100% recycled) plastic bottles and jars at our Tullamarine facility.

About the role

We are seeking a Plant Manager to drive, and lead initiatives required to achieve delivery of the site cost budget while using a continuous improvement outlook. The role is accountable for P&L; cost lines, achieved through production forecasting (S&OP;), driving, and improving Safety outcomes, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain and Reliability across the site. With full accountability for the operations and overall management and performance of the site, you’ll bring your hands-on leadership approach to the full supply chain, from raw materials management through to delivery to customers.

You’ll utilise your leadership expertise to build a culture that has a strong Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence mindset, driving towards improved performance, productivity and efficiency, ensuring operations are both cost and time effective whilst aligning with quality and safety requirements.

- All ISO, HACCP and GMP standards and practices are achieved.

About you

With strong people management skills and technical aptitude, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification as well as High motivation and commitment to quality, people and plant performance as well as customer service excellence.

Your skills and experience

- Appropriate post graduate qualifications in Business and/or Engineering
- Senior leadership experience and tenure
- Extensive experience with profit and loss responsibility (senior operational manager)
- Experienced commercial negotiator in a competitive workplace
- Superior communication skills. A personable leader across all levels (from shop floor to the board room)
- Strong manufacturing background with experience in the plastic moulding industry
- Materials Handling Industry background
- Plastics Industry background
- Education includes a trade background

Qualifications

- Manufacturing, Engineering or Science qualification.
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety desirable
- Minimum Diploma-level accreditation in Management and/or Leadership desirable.
