The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support data and analytics initiatives. This role is hands-on and documentation-focused, ideal for someone who enjoys technical writing and creating clarity from complexity.

Duties may include some or all the following but not limited to:

- Create technical and process documentation with accuracy and consistency.
- Translate discussions and high-level input into explicit, actionable requirements and artefacts.
- Prepare POC, Pilot, and RFQ documentation, including scope, objectives, success criteria, and technical requirements.




- Prepare tender packs with functional and technical requirements, supporting artefacts (e.g., architecture diagrams, current/future state documentation) and assist with vendor technical Q&A; and evaluations.
- Perform gap analysis and document current- and future-state processes, systems, data flows, and integration points (ETL, APIs, Cloud).
- Support rollout readiness, including data migration documentation, transition planning, and handover artefacts.
- Proficient in creating technical documentation such as process maps, swim-lane diagrams, data flow diagrams, and integration specifications using tools like Visio and Confluence.
