About the role:

MSS Security is seeking a professional security officer for a casual role at the Federal Court in Cairns.

Officers may be required to manage situations involving challenging behaviours in high-stress environments. The role is a Monday to Friday position.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Collaborating with court staff and law enforcement to manage high-risk situations.

- Responding quickly and appropriately to incidents involving disruptive or aggressive behaviour.
- Ensuring the safety and security of both visitors and staff within the court environment.
- Screening individuals entering the court building and ensuring compliance with all security protocols.
- Monitoring and overseeing courtroom security during hearings.

What will make you stand out for this role? The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

- Previous experience in a customer facing role.





- Strong communication skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
- Skilled attitude and high standard of personal presentation.
- Confidence, assertiveness, and the ability to manage challenging situations effectively.

Requirements:

- Blue card (or willing to obtain)

- Full Australian Working Rights
- Valid QLD Security License
- Certificate II (or higher) in Security Operations
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Wiling to undergo a National Police Check
- Monday to Friday availability
