As the business continues to evolve and grow, an prospect has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join the finance team. This role will suit a technically strong and commercially minded accountant who is looking to further develop their career within a listed environment and contribute to a high-performing finance function.
The Opportunity
Reporting into senior finance leadership, the Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and insightful analysis to support business decision making.
You will also act as a mentor and point of guidance for junior team members while contributing to process improvement and finance projects across the organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CA/CPA qualified accountant looking to broaden their exposure within a large and complex business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Month-End
- Lead the preparation and delivery of month-end financial results
- Prepare and review journals, accruals and adjustments
- Produce and analyse management reports, providing clear variance analysis and commentary
- Maintain and review balance sheet reconciliations
Statutory & Compliance
- Assist with the preparation of board reporting
- Lead the preparation of half-year and full-year statutory reporting requirements
- Prepare statutory returns and ABS surveys
Planning & Analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Prepare financial and cost analysis to support commercial decision-making
Financial Controls & Systems
- Ensure strong financial governance and adherence to internal controls
- Oversee CAPEX allocation processes and maintain the asset register
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting
Collaboration & Leadership
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior finance team members
- Partner with internal stakeholders across the business
- Contribute to finance transformation initiatives and projects
About You
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification
- A degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business
- Approximately 4+ years' experience in a financial accounting or similar role
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting capability
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability
- Experience working with finance systems (Dynamics 365 experience highly regarded)
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders across the business
You will also be a proactive and commercially curious professional who enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to continuous improvement.
