Senior Data Capability Uplift Stream Lead

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Capability Uplift Lead to drive the design and delivery of a major data capability uplift program.
This role will play a key part in strengthening data governance, implementing tools and frameworks, and ensuring data practices are embedded effectively across the organisation.

About the role
You will lead the end-to-end delivery of the data capability uplift stream, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure outcomes are practical, aligned to business needs, and delivered at pace.
You will also act as a key decision-maker within the Data Office, providing direction on priorities, resolving issues, and ensuring successful adoption of new capabilities.

Key responsibilities

- Lead the strategy and delivery of the data capability uplift program
- Drive implementation of data governance frameworks, tools, and practices
- Guide rollout planning, prioritisation, and business readiness activities
- Oversee business acceptance, including testing and implementation readiness




- Support adoption through training, communication, and stakeholder engagement
- Build solid relationships across business and program teams
- Provide clear, business-focused updates and presentations to senior stakeholders
- Ensure governance practices are embedded into day-to-day operations

About you
- Proven experience delivering enterprise data governance frameworks
- Strong knowledge of data management tools and modern data environments (cloud, data warehouse, data lakes)
- Ability to translate complex data concepts into clear business language
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including working with senior leaders
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
- Experience leading teams and driving high-performance outcomes
- Confident communicator with strong influencing and negotiation skills
