Not all data flow roles are created equal. This one puts you at the centre of how a Commonwealth client moves data securely between networks every day. You will design, build and operate the secure data flows and gateways that act as the agency's digital post office, automating the routing of feeds between internal systems and external sources. Working alongside architects, software developers and data engineers, you will own technical outcomes that directly support mission critical operations.

What You'll Be Doing

Data Flow Engineering and Operations

- Engineer, implement, test, debug and monitor data flows to keep data moving securely, efficiently and on time between sources and destinations

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly to minimise data flow downtime





- Work across a range of monitoring and alerting platforms to maintain visibility and uptime

Integration and Architecture

- Provide architecture, management and support of secure gateways and data flows that ingest and distribute data across systems

- Design and build integrations between systems using APIs and object stores

- Configure system components and equipment for systems testing, and contribute to automated deployments

Documentation and Collaboration

- Develop technical documentation that captures data flow design, integration components and configuration changes

- Design, perform and report on tests for integration builds

- Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, system architects, software developers and data engineers to deliver shared outcomes

What You'll Bring

The Essentials

- You must hold a current PV security clearance and be an Australian citizen to be considered for this role

- 3 or more years of data flow or system administration experience, with programming skills in Python and SQL

- Hands on experience with monitoring and alerting platforms and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues quickly

- Practical knowledge of designing and building system integrations using APIs and object stores, and familiarity with automated deployments

- Strong technical documentation skills and the ability to track work clearly in collaboration tools

Bonus Points

- Linux based system administration skills

- Experience building and operating a continuous integration capability with version control of source code and related artefacts

- Knowledge of cyber security
