Salary: UOM 7 - $111,275 - $120,453 p.a. plus 17% super

Your next career opportunity
As the Senior Major Initiatives Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and coordinating strategically significant research funding opportunities. You'll have the chance to work with diverse stakeholders, including industry partners, to drive innovation and collaboration. Your expertise in research funding programs will be instrumental in increasing external funding levels and diversifying opportunities for the University of Melbourne.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Coordinate Major Funding Schemes: Manage the application process for major research funding opportunities, ensuring alignment with strategic goals

- Enhance Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with executive staff, researchers, faculty staff and external partners to support funding success

- Provide Expert Guidance: Offer specialist advice on funding proposals, ensuring compliance with internal and external rules and strategic alignment

- Support Project Development: Assist in the development of project proposals, delivering seminars, workshops, and strategic advice to maximise funding outcomes

You may be a great fit if:
You possess expert knowledge of research funding programs and have a proven ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships, driving strategic funding success in complex environments.

You may also:

- Have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience





- Be adept at coordinating prestigious research funding schemes

- Excel in written and verbal communication, translating complex ideas into accessible language

- Demonstrate initiative and flexibility, committed to continuous improvement

- Have excellent stakeholder management skills
