Lead a major Oracle upgrade for a large utility. 12-month contract, national applicants, likely extension. Your recent company
Join a major multi-year transformation program delivering critical business-sustaining capability uplift. This is an opportunity to lead a high-profile Oracle Finance System Upgrade within a large, complex utility and play a key role in strengthening asset management, financial reporting, and enterprise integration.
Your new role
As the Senior Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of an Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and Oracle EPM upgrade as part of a wider Core Capability Program. This initiative supports significant organisational change driven by new technologies, regulatory obligations, modernised service models, and improved customer and community expectations.
Working closely with a system integrator, business SMEs, system accountants, BA teams and design teams, you will drive planning, governance, scope, schedule, risk management, vendor performance and stakeholder alignment across a multi-stream environment. You will be accountable for:
- Leading all aspects of project delivery, including planning, governance, reporting, business case support, risks/issues, budget, scope and change.
- Managing the system implementor and ensuring contracted deliverables are met on both sides.
- Steering the design, "to-be" processes, and solution integrity across finance, asset management and integration streams.
- Leading BA's design and business engagement teams to close design gaps and support data, requirements and transition activities.
- Liaising across core build, integration, testing, non-core build, training, change and release management streams.
- Preparing high-quality updates, proposals, documentation and presentations for senior stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 3-7 years delivering Oracle EBS and/or Oracle EPM projects - this must be your core background and the Oracle Project exposure must have been recent.
- Demonstrated success leading system upgrades/implementations (not supporting them).
- Strong vendor management experience, ideally with recognised Oracle system integrators.
- Ability to work with system accountants and understand finance/reporting challenges.
- A business-focused mindset rather than purely technical orientation.
- Proven ability to articulate project risks ("what 5 things will go wrong") and strategies to prevent them.
- Experience in utilities is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to travel to Darwin at least one week per month; if Melbourne-based, attend the Melbourne office once per week as well as monthly travel to Darwin.
What you'll get in return
- 12-month contract with strong potential for extension.
- Daily rate with weekly pay.
- Ability to work remotely for 3 weeks each month and travel to Darwin for one week per month (flights and accommodation paid for and daily allowances included)
- Work on a major capability uplift program with national visibility.
- A collaborative, pragmatic team with a good sense of humour.
- National applicants encouraged.
