Senior Security Engineer - Data Protection

As part of continued investment in cyber security, my client are seeking a Senior Security Engineer - Data Protection to take ownership of enterprise DLP and CASB capabilities within a Microsoft-centric ecosystem.

This is a senior, hands-on role combining operational engineering, solution design, and stakeholder engagement. You will play a key role in uplifting Azure security capability within the broader team.

The Role:
You will be responsible for leading and maturing:

- Enterprise DLP strategy and engineering
- CASB capability (including Skyhigh)
- Microsoft Purview
- Security across the Microsoft stack including Azure AD / Entra ID and M365
- Integration, monitoring and use case development within Microsoft Sentinel

The broader team is operationally strong but requires deeper Azure security expertise. This role will provide that uplift.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement and optimise DLP policies across endpoint, email and cloud environments
- Lead and enhance Microsoft Purview data protection capabilities
- Own and evolve CASB controls, including Skyhigh




- Provide security oversight and guidance across Azure environments
- Support and uplift Azure security posture (NSGs, identity and access controls)
- Act as a senior point of contact and represent the hiring manager when required
- Run stakeholder meetings, provide technical consulting, and guide security direction
- Support BAU operational security while contributing to upcoming security projects

About You:
You are a senior security engineer with strong technical depth and the confidence to operate in a consultative capacity.

Essential experience:

- Senior-level DLP engineering experience
- Expert hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview
- Strong experience with CASB technologies (Skyhigh highly regarded)
- Deep understanding of the Microsoft security stack
- Strong Azure security experience, including NSGs and RBAC
- Experience working with Microsoft Sentinel
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to run meetings and represent leadership
