About the role

The Systems and Cloud Engineer is a self-motivated IT professional with 6+ years’ experience in medium to large IT environments. The role involves leading small-scale projects with minimal oversight, contributing to design and pre-sales activities, and delivering consulting and project work such as upgrades, remediation, reviews and analysis across IT and OT environments. Work may be onsite or remote, with some travel and occasional after-hours deployment work required. The role requires strong experience deploying and managing Windows Servers in Azure IaaS/SaaS and on-prem virtual environments, along with knowledge of networking, Microsoft 365, disaster recovery, and SAN storage. Automation and scripting (e.g. PowerShell) is highly desirable.

What you’ll do

The role involves working directly with clients to provide technical expertise, present solution and architecture designs, support Senior Engineers, Project Managers and Business Development Managers. You will consult, design, deploy, upgrade, remediate and support system and cloud solutions, review existing and proposed environments, and provide clear technical recommendations. The position includes contributing to pre-sales activities such as proposals, tenders, solution costing, and translating business requirements into technical solutions, as well as developing and supporting FAT, SAT and technical testing documentation. You will produce high-quality HLD and LLD documentation,



deliver projects on schedule in collaboration with project teams and architects, participate in change management activities, provide Level 3 support, engage with clients and third-party vendors while complying with all onsite safety requirements.

What you’ll bring

- At least 8 years’ experience as a Systems, or Cloud Engineer.

- Information Technology (IT) Qualification such as Tafe Certificate IV/Diploma or Bachelor of
Computer Science/Information Technology Degree or equivalent education/experience.

- Microsoft Server, Azure or Office 365 certification or equivalent

- Hyper-V and/or VMware hypervisor experience

- Active Directory design, maintenance, and changes.

- Experience with enterprise level backup systems and disaster recovery solutions.

- Experienced in the creation of Detailed Design/High-Level Design (HLD)/Low-Level Design
Documents

- General knowledge of the principles of secure IT/OT environments

- Experience with project scoping and pre-sales estimations

- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

Preferred Skills and Experience:

- Demonstrated high level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop creative and cutting-edge solutions to difficult and complex problems.

- Excellent verbal, written communication skills and attention to detail.

- Accountable and proactive with ability to self-manage and co-ordinate multiple project priorities.
