Your new role
As the Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients, providing comprehensive taxation, compliance and advisory services. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs
- Overseeing BAS/IAS, payroll, superannuation and FBT compliance
- Leading annual tax planning and cashflow/budget forecasting
- Advising business clients on structuring, business plans, appraisals, finance applications and valuations
- Managing ATO audits, reviews, GST audits and tax investigations
- Supporting SMSF clients through setup, year-end compliance, audit preparation and ongoing management
- Supervising, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members
- Contributing to business improvement initiatives and supporting internal systems development
- Ensuring all work is delivered to high quality, within set timeframes and budgets
This is a senior role suited to someone who enjoys both technical tax work and building strong,
trusted client relationships.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- CA or CPA qualification
- 7+ years' experience in business services and taxation in Australia
- Strong technical proficiency across tax compliance, business advisory and SMSF work
- Advanced computer skills and comfort with accounting software
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle client queries professionally
- Strong organisational capability with the ability to prioritise, manage deadlines and work independently
- Leadership qualities including the ability to supervise, train and mentor others
- High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality
