Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support
applications/scripts in a UNIX/Linux environment
- Write efficient, optimized SQL queries for
data extraction, transformation, and reporting
- Perform database tuning, query
optimization, and performance analysis
- Automate routine tasks using shell
scripting (Bash/KornShell)
- Monitor batch jobs and troubleshoot
production issues
- Work closely with application teams, DBAs,
and business stakeholders
- Manage file processing, job scheduling,
and system -level configurations
- Ensure data integrity, security, and
compliance standards
- Participate in code reviews and deployment
processes
in Agile/Scrum teams Required Skills
UNIX/Linux
- Strong command -line proficiency
- Shell scripting (Bash / KornShell)
- Experience with cron jobs, file system
management, process handling
SQL / Database
- Solid SQL skills (joins, subqueries,
indexing, stored procedures)
- Experience with databases like Oracle,
MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
- Query tuning and performance
optimization
Other Technical Skills
- Knowledge of ETL processes and data
workflows
- Experience with scheduling tools (AutoSys,
Control -M, etc.)
- Basic understanding of data warehousing
concepts
- Familiarity with version control systems
(Git, SVN)
