We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our respected and high performing Finance team in the capacity of an Assistant Accountant in our Inner Melbourne office.

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, working closely with the Group Accounting and Treasury Manager and GM Finance, this role supports the Finance team in the delivery of month end, budgets and projections and maintaining high levels of financial governance across the business.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Preparation of month-end journals across areas such as accruals, banking,



payroll and inventory.
- Preparation of monthly reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
- Supporting the treasury function to manage group cash flow requirements
- Support the tax function to manage group return requirements
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Continuously improve procedures, systems and activities to help drive efficiency improvements across the team

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this role you will have:

- Tertiary education in Accounting or 1-2 years' experience in a similar role
- Retail experience an advantage but not essential
- A robust practical knowledge of accounting systems, including Excel and experience with the FMCG / Retail sector is an advantage
- Great communication skills
- Enjoy working in a fast paced environment and continually looks for opportunities to improve and grow
