About the role

Mater Intellectual Disability and Autism Service (MIDAS) is looking for a part time (0.4FTE) Enrolled Nurse to work in the outpatient clinic in Mater Hospital South Brisbane in an initial 12-month fixed term contract.

MIDAS is a state-wide outpatient service delivered by Mater Health Service which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through clinical practice, education and research. We are based at Mater South Brisbane, operating an outpatient service in person and by telehealth to regional and remote areas of Queensland. MIDAS is also involved in education to health and disability professionals and has an active clinical research agenda.

Salary range: $31.42 - $33.46 (EN Level) p/h + 10.5% super and salary packaging

What you’ll be doing

The role of the enrolled nurse is to manage the operation of the MIDAS outpatient clinic. This includes and is not limited to the following:

- Communicate with patients and carers who arrive at clinic
- Have a basic understanding of common health and mental health issues associated with intellectual and developmental disability
- Take obs, record and provide to treating team
- Assist with confirming and communicating next appointment details with patient and carers
- Offering patients and carers the opportunity to provide feedback regarding the clinic
- Follow up on outpatient appointment outcomes

About you

We are looking for EN’s who have:





- Current AHPRA registration to practice as an Enrolled Nurse (no restrictions)
- Post-graduate experience (desirable) within a hospital environment, preferably within a Medical environment
- A
- Demonstrated effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care within the multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge and commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
- Commitment and responsibility for skilled practice through continuing professional development of self and others
