This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join the Community Services team, working to provide housing management support, and to advocate and refer clients to appropriate services for people who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness to achieve self-reliance and independence.

Housing Support Worker

Permanent Full Time – 80 hours per fortnight

Classification : Welfare Worker (XL8)

Award : Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2021 - 2026

This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join the Community Services team, working to provide housing management support, and to advocate and refer clients to appropriate services for people who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness to achieve self-reliance and independence.

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

- Experienced housing support worker
- Understanding of homelessness issues
- Demonstrated experience working with complex clients
- Ability to work independently
- Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary team
- Previous experience working with marginalised clients
- Excellent communication and client focused service

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications :

1. Relevant qualification in Community Services or Welfare
2. Experience and skills in working within a homeless service
3.



Understanding and experience in working with disadvantaged and vulnerable clients

Technical/Skilled Knowledge and skills

1. Sensitivity to, and understanding of, marginalised sectors of the community including people experiencing housing crisis
2. Knowledge of the local service environment, well developed networks within the community, and knowledge of appropriate services and supports available for clients experiencing homelessness
3. Well-developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to liaise and consult with a range of professionals, community groups and local agencies

Personal Attributes

1. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
2. Proven ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
3. Ability to perform in a changing work environment
