Western Diagnostic Pathology (WDP) provides diagnostic pathology services to more than two million patients throughout Western Australia and the Northern Territory each year. We have 10 medical laboratories across the region, more than 200 collection sites, and a team of nearly 1000 people who are dedicated to providing quality care to patients, and accurate and timely results to medical practitioners. About the position:

WDP has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant to join our busy Specimen Reception Area (SRA) in Jandakot laboratory. This position is a 12-month contract with the chance of extension, working 76 hours per fortnight. The successful applicant will possess the ability to work, day and night shifts with the flexibility to work on weekends where required. This role is responsible for receipting, ID checking, sorting,



and processing of Covid samples ready for analytical testing in timely manner.

About you:

- Safety in performing routine and technical tasks
- High attention to detail while working to deadlines
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and problem solving
- Ability to communicate effectively with health professionals internal and external to the business
- Previous experience in a pathology laboratory setting will be highly regarded
