PETQuarters is a growing, family owned retailer of pet supplies. We are now recruiting an experienced Store Manager and an experienced Assistant Manager for our Newcastle/Hunter stores.

Our Teams are 'petcentric' and we have a number of staff specialists across various categories of pet ownership.
Store Manager and Assistant Managers are responsible for leading small teams to ensure ongoing growth and success.
Key areas of Responsibility:
- Providing leadership across all business priorities - leading from the front (office managers need not apply!).
- Providing exceptional customer service, including problem solving and providing technical advice on pet nutrition and wellbeing and aquarium care.
- Stock control - ordering, receiving purchase orders, stock taking.
- Ensuring store standards of the highest level, including safety, cleanliness, organisation, ticketing and general stock presentation.
- Carrying out procedures for daily running of store, including maintenance and projects.
- Undertaking visual merchandising processes to an exceptional standard, including store flow,
promotions and branding.
- Stock management, including receiving and unloading stock, which is physically demanding work.
- Assisting staff with difficult customers, complaints and customer enquiries.
- Proactively contributing to and modelling a positive workplace environment at all times.
- Contribute to organisational goals within a close team of excellent store managers and 2ICs.
PETQuarters is seeking motivated individuals with excellent communication and time management skills, who can demonstrate the following selection criteria:

Essential
- Retail/customer service experience in a leadership role.
- Experience in identifying and solving problems in a timely manner.
- Experience in working autonomously and prioritising workload.
- Experience with inventory management and ordering.
- Ability to exceed in a physically demanding role.
- Organisational skills.
- Communication skills.
Highly Desirable
- Experience in the companion pet and/or aquarium industry.
- Qualifications in a retail or animal related field.
- A keen interest in or experience in aquarium, specifically marine aquariums.
