Mater are looking for Registered Nurses to join Catherine's House based at our South Brisbane campus.
With one in five mums and up to one in ten fathers experiencing depression, anxiety and other mental health issues before or after the birth of a child, this new facility will triple the number of public beds in Queensland from 4 to 12 for families in need of perinatal mental health support.

Salary range: $38.16-$49.04(RN Level 1) per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging
What you’ll be doing
- Provide high standards of service delivery by ensuring clinical practice is contemporary, individualised, safe, recovery-focused and evidence based.
- Provide contemporary mental health care to mothers or primary carers.
- Utilise mental health nursing clinical skills within an integrated framework for mothers affected by acute and complex perinatal mental illness.
- Provide mental health nursing care that takes into consideration the infant and the parent/primary caregiver-infant relationship. This may include access to needed medical, social, educational, vocational, psycho-social and other necessary services as they relate to the mother’s mental health needs, and their recovery
About you
Essential
- AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife and a current annual practicing certificate.
- The successful applicant has or is willing to work towards specialist mental health nursing and/or perinatal and infant mental health qualifications.
- Experience in mental health nursing is essential
Desirable
- Are an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) in Queensland or you have worked primarily in a mental health setting for at least two (2) years, thereby enabling you to apply for recognition as an AMHP after completion of relevant training.
- Are a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse with the ACMHN or you are willing to work towards same.
