About the Colour Specialist Role
We have a fantastic on-site full time permanent opportunity for someone who has recently completed high school, diploma or bachelors, is passionate about science and wants an opportunity to work in this field.
At the AkzoNobel manufacturing site in Sunshine North, we are looking to grow and support a passionate individual on their career journey. On this journey, we will develop and support you in providing timely and accurate colour developments as required by Sales and Operations staff, so that Akzo Nobel can obtain or retain customers and contracts will following and maintaining safe work practices.
The role will see you:
Colour Matching - Develop / Redevelop colour matches with the use of the Powder Formulation Guidelines so that customer specifications and technical needs are achieved within budget.
Maintain Database - Develop / Redevelop colour matches with the use of the Powder Formulation Guidelines so that customer specifications and technical needs are achieved within budget.
Calibrate Equipment - Calibrate allocated test equipment within calibration schedule timeframes to ensure ongoing compliance with all quality regulations, accreditations and internal policies.
Sales Support - Provide advice to sales team, as requested, about colour adjustments and capability so that they can communicate that information to the customer.
Health and Safety - Responsible for supporting and maintaining the safety and 5S programs in the powder laboratory in line with Akzo Nobel’s EH&S; programs in order to meet all safety and 5S KPI’s.
Project Planning - Manage and plan project activities, with guidance from the Lab Manager, in order to deliver the project objectives against agreed timelines.
Sample Preparation - Prepare and test samples, using formulation guidelines or directions from the Lab Manager, to meet the objectives of the product design requests.
Laboratory Service Requests (LWR) - Conduct LWR requests including testing and written reports as directed by the lab manager.
What you will bring
This is an entry level role; therefore, we are looking for someone with at least a Highschool Certificate, Diploma or bachelor’s degree. Any experience gained in the science field, would be highly beneficial. If not,
a great working attitude and willingness to learn, is all we ask for!
