About the role
Reporting to our Senior Legal Counsel, you will work as part of a highly respected, collaborative and commercially focused legal team. Providing your legal expertise to inform commercial decision making, you will work closely with our procurement, sales, marketing, corporate and supply teams to deliver fast, effective valuable legal solutions to TWE’s business operations in a range of jurisdictions. Work will include:
- Providing sound advice and counsel over a broad range of legal matters, including maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of contracts for TWE’s marketing, sales, corporate, IT, supply and procurement functions.
- Reviewing and advising on a diverse range of marketing and promotional activities, partnerships and current product development and innovation.
- Providing advice to ensure TWE’s products comply with regulatory requirements (including labelling) for the production, sale and export of wine.
- Providing advice in relation to on-going compliance matters and assisting with litigation and disputes as needed.
- Assisting in the development of policies, procedures and training programmes including delivering regular training sessions to staff on relevant legal issues.
- Co-ordinating the use of local and international external legal advisors in relation to these activities, as appropriate.
About you
You will have:
- 2-5 years PQE in private practice and/or in-house legal team, experience with international or well-regarded national law firm and/or in-house FMCG experience will be highly regarded
- strong contract drafting skills and experience with commercial contracting and negotiation.
- demonstrated ability to learn quickly, to understand business objectives and to provide considered, timely and easy to understand legal solutions to commercial problems.
- a down to earth, pragmatic approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) to quickly build the trust and confidence of relevant stakeholders.
- ability to act autonomously as required.
