We are on the hunt for our next Sport Science Coordinator to join our Pathways and Performance team. This role is responsible for the management of our athlete management system (AMS) and other sport science platforms. Your efforts power Queensland Rugby League to educate, train and support performance staff across Queensland, including the might Maroons!

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This role is essential for ensuring QRL programs and State-Wide Competition clubs can leverage cutting-edge tools to enhance their performance environment. You’ll be at the forefront of data management, system implementation and user training, working closely with our Physical Performance Manager and other key stakeholders to drive athlete development and compliance. This role requires someone with flexibility to travel across the State throughout the year. We’ve broken it down a little for you:

- Manage the QRL Athlete Management System.
- Oversee and lead the implementation of technology platforms and licenses that the QRL may hold, maintaining all required accounts, serviceability, and system requirements. This includes but is not limited to, Teambuildr, Catapult Openfield (GPS), Hudl, Analyser Fairplay, VALD, StatsPerform, and Apple.
- Collaborate with contracted staff within QRL representative programs to ensure QRL systems are embedded and used effectively. Including performance monitoring, athletic testing and performance reviews.
- Coordinate the collection, management and storage of data relating to Pathways and performance and provide timely reports upon request.




- Develop training and information material to support the effective use of all performance technology licences. This includes, but not limited to TEAMWORKS, Catapult, Hudl and FairPlay.
- Support QRL representative programs/camps through direct and indirect involvement as required.
- Coordinate and communicate regularly with State-Wide Competition clubs to maintain a single point of information distribution related to coaching and performance.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

- Minimum of 2-3 years’ industry experience at the elite level.
- A tertiary qualification in Sport Science or related field.
- ASCA Level 1 Coach, ESSA, ASPS-1 (desirable)
- Experience with athlete management systems and process workflows.
- Effective program planning, able to undertake a range of tasks simultaneously, prioritising those of significance; ability to deliver projects through to completion.
- Proven ability to seamlessly integrate into elite sporting team environments, while managing stakeholder relationships with professionalism and ease.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills, performing well under pressure while consistently delivering service excellence.
- Ability to travel frequently throughout the year.

A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE





This is a permanent full time position based in South East Queensland. The salary for this position is $83,512 plus superannuation. QRL remunerate based on the position requirements to ensure gender pay equity in sport. We offer 4 weeks annual leave and 1 week of refresh leave throughout the season as well as flexible working arrangements.

Applicants must hold current national compliance registrations or be eligible to obtain them, including ESSA, ASCA, SIA, and First Aid certifications.
