The opportunity

This Is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Statutory Classes Actuarial Team at QBE. If you flourish in a team committed to transformation and exceptional outcomes, then this is the opportunity for you. We are looking for experienced and talented individuals to join our Actuarial team, as we expand our actuarial function. You will be responsible for providing actuarial advice, acting as a first point of contact for designated portfolios (with reserving for CTP SA & Qld the primary focus in the first 12 months). This role will entail:

- Managing the reserving and performance monitoring processes
- Being responsible for developing, guiding and managing analysts
- Continuously drive improvements in our approach and our systems
- Working closely with our analytical professionals in our Data & Analytics and wider finance teams
- Engaging with key stakeholders, developing trusted relationships with peers in product, underwriting, distribution and claims




- Working with business stakeholders to assist in meeting their P&L; targets through quality analytics and provision of information
- Opportunities for involvement in pricing exercises for both CTP and Workers Compensation

Your story so far

Your experience will include proven Actuarial expertise within General Insurance, and are ready to take the next step in your career with a leading global insurer known for providing career development and progression opportunities. You have exceptional problem solving skills and an ability to generate outside of the box, creative solutions rather than following precedence. You will also have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and can utilise these to liaise with stakeholders at varying levels across the business to influence best practice outcomes. In addition to this, you will have proven experience leading a team and experience performing multi variant modelling.
