Your day as an Associate Director
Your typical day-to-day work includes identifying reform opportunities and policy options; developing and delivering the annual Indigenous Expenditure Report requirements for its project lifespan, promoting financial management and delivering on First Nations’ outcomes, and supporting the Director on broader goals for Treasury. The role requires an advanced understanding of public sector financial management, social policy and principles of data and statistical analytics.
You will be undertaking quantitative analysis and policy development with the aim of improving outcomes for First Nations peoples in NSW. The role drives a strong collaboration with First nations organisations, representative bodies, and communities. The role requires a high degree of Aboriginal cultural capability, and demonstrated experience working with First Nations communities and issues.
You will have an invaluable opportunity to support the Director and lead a team of diverse and high performing individuals in a complex, high pressure, and culturally sensitive environment.
Achieve success as an Associate Director
In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW.
You will be successful in this role if you are:
- Experienced in engaging and working with First Nations communities and have a high degree of First Nations cultural competency
- experienced in high pressure, sensitive, dynamic and innovative environments with compressed timeframes
- able to demonstrate research, analytical,
and strategic thinking skills, as well as experience working with data spreadsheets and systems
- resilient and adaptable
- have excellent communication and negotiation skills
- qualified in a relevant discipline such as: business analytics, finance, economics, policy. Additional qualifications in public and/or social policy is desired.
- Experience in programming and implementing business intelligence tools such as Power BI or other data visualisation tools is highly regarded
