RINA is currently recruiting for a Consultant to join its office in Melbourne, Australia within the Green Energy Solutions Division.

RINA is an independent global engineering business, specialising in consulting engineering services through investment support and technical advisory for the renewable energy sector. We offer a complete package of services to investors, lenders, developers, independent power producers (IPPs) and asset owners.
We are currently looking for Renewables Consultants to join our teams in either Sydney (Manly) or Melbourne (CBD) to support our growth in this exciting sector. You will find yourself working on a range of battery energy storage, solar and wind projects and interacting with other teams in our renewables business units world-wide.
The Role
The role will be focused on delivering services in the renewable energy sector as either Owner’s Engineer or Independent Engineer, including feasibility studies, design, project development services, technical due diligence, construction monitoring, acceptance testing, performance and operational services, as well as involvement in winning and delivering new projects across the globe.
Responsibilities may include:
• Helping to deliver technical due diligence or Owner’s Engineer services on large scale energy storage, solar PV and wind projects for Investors, Lenders, IPPs and Developers
• Monitoring and reporting on projects through the construction and operational phases
• Providing technical engineering support on projects at all stages of the project development cycle
• Reviewing (as per candidate’s specific experience) of energy resource assessment reports, technology assessments, structural studies, electrical design, contractual documentation, environmental studies, planning permission, health and safety reports, or grid connection documentation
• Preparing or reviewing solar PV and / or wind energy yield analysis
• Contributing to business development activities i.e. development of new solutions, proposal writing and client presentations.
Qualifications
Mandatory criteria:
• Bachelor's degree in STEM subjects
• Eligibility to live and work in Australia (e.g. Australian citizen or holder of an Australian working visa).
• ~3 years of experience with the renewables market or else engineering sector
Desirable criteria:
• Prior experience with the Australian renewables market
• Experience with PV and/or wind resource and energy yield analysis and familiarity with relevant software such as PVsyst and WindPRO
• Prior experience with energy storage systems and technologies
• Masters or PhD in related subject
• Demonstrated aptitude in consulting/managing clients/service delivery; specific experience within the renewable energy sector
• Knowledge of the design, construction, operations and maintenance of electrical / mechanical system components
• Some knowledge of relevant Australian and international technical standards and working practices.
