Due to an increase in activity, we are seeking for a full time Clinical Pharmacist to join our team of professionals. Based within our hospital as a Clinical Pharmacist, you will be supported by a specialist team to deliver professional services while ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare. This is a permanent fulltime position with a rotating roster for weekends and on-call. This role will develop your skills through working closely with the hospital teams and will also retain your community pharmacist skills by providing support in the hospital pharmacy. While advantageous, no previous experience in a hospital setting is required as training will be provided by the Chief Pharmacist for the right applicant.

The Role

The Clinical Pharmacist will provide accurate and up to date medication services and be the link between the ward Medical Officers, the Registered Nurses, the Pharmacy and the PBS. The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring that medication safety of the patient is maintained, medications are accurately documented and reconciled on patient discharge and patient is provided education of management of the prescribed medications.

Key Selection Criteria

1. Bachelor’s Degree in pharmacy and current registration with AHPRA as a pharmacist in Queensland
2. Experience working as a pharmacist within a hospital (highly desirable)
3. Analytical thinking, judgement and the ability to develop appropriate solutions
4. Organisational skills and a proven capacity to manage a competing workload to meet deadlines
5. Excellent written and verbal communication, and client management skills
6. Demonstrated high level of computer literacy including dispensary software

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements
