We are seeking a full time highly energetic and enthusiastic experienced Sterilising Technician or current CSSD team leader / supervisor who has a passion for training & education and have the capacity to take on challenges, a good leader and a team player who can supervise a team of our new state of the art CSSD.

As the Supervisor, you will be supervising and coordinating the reprocessing of reusable medical devices and other requirements in all areas of CSSD aligned with the Operating Theatres and other clinical areas daily surgical requirements.

You will also assist to identify and oversee training and/or development requirements of staff members in coordination with the CSSD Manager.

The successful applicant must possess the qualities of being flexible, methodical, organized; as well as have a strong focus on planning, coordination and productivity relating to CSSD’s operational requirements in compliance with the new Australian / NZ Standards, Infection Control Policy, and other mandatory requirements.

The high acuity hospital has 277 acute medical, surgical and maternity beds, including a 19 bed ICU, 32 bed CCU, 19 theatres (Main theatres, Robotics Theatre, Cardiac/Vascular Hybrid and Cath Lab and Endoscopy theatres), Day Oncology and a 24/7 Emergency Department.

You’ll work with the CSSD team in the following ways:

In partnership with CSSD Manager, Perioperative Team, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Infection Control Coordinator and Work Health & Safety Manager to deliver training and education programs including the multi-skilling of all CSSD staff.

Contribute to the efficient, effective, and economic running of the department.

Participate in working parties or committees (as required)

Initiate, participate and undertake quality improvements within CSSD and Instrument Tracking System.

Participate in all activities, processes and allocations in CSSD as required

Super user for Instrument Tracking System

CSSD Supervisory experience in a hospital setting

Perform additional duties as determined by the CSSD manager

Essential Criteria:

CSSD Supervisory experience in a hospital setting

Certificate III Sterilisation Technology

Sound knowledge of AS/NZS4187:2014

Experience with electronic tracking systems

Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail





Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to quality improvement

Desirable Criteria:

Experience in workplace training & assessment

Cert IV Training and Assessment or working towards same

Experience in auditing
