About the Role:
The CFA are implementing a restructure to the Business Intelligence Department. As such we have new and exciting opportunities for those who are progressive thinkers and operators who will bring “data to life”. Leaders who will bring technical expertise and implement sophisticated operations to enable informed decision making.
The Business Intelligence team “bring data to life” so that our customers in Victorian communities are prepared for and protected from fire. The team enables trusted decisions through high quality, visible data and information that are presented to community programs, project leaders, brigades, media, emergency sector agencies, Board and Minister's Office.
The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the collection, analysis and presentation of data related to community risk from fire and non-fire incidents in deterministic and probabilistic ways.
The position operates in one of the core disciplines of risk management, data visualisation, corporate reporting or topographical mapping to provide meaningful, high quality data for decision makers. In addition, the Data Analyst understands and applies the methods, techniques and standards to meet objectives across CFA and for external agencies.
About You:
- Qualification and experience in the methods, techniques and tools for trusted data analyses. Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities through the lifecycle of projects and service delivery requests.
- Proven experience using business intelligence software to analyse and visualise data to support effective decision making.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with focus on delivering accurate advice and information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to take complex information, gather insights, and present it to a range of audiences in an easy to understand way
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships and liaise and consult with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
