Join the Business Services Division Tech team within the Enterprise Technology portfolio, as a high performing and versatile individual. The team support Corporate Real Estate, Group Procurement and Business Resiliency businesses at Macquarie. Reporting to the Business Services Division Team Lead as a DevOps Engineer, you will be part of a technical team, responsible for providing technical support for software applications and systems across supported portfolio. This may include troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, assisting users with software functionality, and providing training and documentation.
You are a highly motivated individual with 5+ years of experience working in a similar role in a medium to large enterprise. You are meticulous, thorough and possess excellent communication skills to engage with all levels of our stakeholders. A self-starter, keeping up to date with new technologies and best practices in IT operations and application support. You will be managing and maintaining IT infrastructure both on-prem and AWS, including servers and storage systems, while providing advice on the capabilities of systems to meet business needs.
You will be involved in identifying and resolving incidents relating to key applications, analysing incident trends to identify problems and root causes, while planning and implementing permanent fix solutions or workarounds for identified problems. Implementing software maintenance,
including patches and system upgrades, while ensuring compliance with IT policies and procedures will be key to your success in the role.
Your responsibilities will also include:
- develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders of applications, communicating relevant information to them on a regular basis.
- develop a solid understanding of how stakeholders interact with key applications on a day-to-day basis.
- create and maintain documentation of specialist technical knowledge for all key applications.
- coordinating with external vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in:
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and ITIL framework
- Troubleshooting and problem - solving experience.
- Experience writing MS -SQL queries and interacting with databases.
- Understanding of monitoring tools e.g. Splunk
- Understanding of business intelligence reporting.
- Have strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to describe technical concepts simply to non-technical people.
It would be desirable if you have experience in:
- Python, Bash or Powershell scripting skills.
- ITIL Certification
- Experience of the UNIX operating system
- Knowledge of ITIL tools (e.g. Remedy) for Incident/Change/Problem management
- Experience and understanding of Agile development lifecycle and Scrum
- Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration tools (e.g.
Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
- Financial services experience.
