The Financial Markets Technology Team provides trading and risk management capabilities across the FX and Debt Markets product set. This capability applies across the bank's customer base, 7 x 24 hours a day, with presence in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, London and New York. A strategic approach to improving throughput with DevOps, SRE, Microservices and Agile Methodologies is now underway. The DevOps team is looking to expand our engineering capabilities with our, Kubernetes Microservices Cluster, Kafka Messaging Bus and Monitoring tools and improve our internal agile capability. This role would suit a candidate who would like a role that mixes technical and non-technical delivery, or someone with Scrum management experience who wishes to retrain into a technical delivery role.

How will I help?

The purpose of this role is to act as our teams Scrum Master and enhance our overall DevOps capability. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with other senior devops engineers and work closely with the local support desks and London support desks to ensure production stability during trading hours. The Scrum Master component is expected to be approx. 50% of daily workload with the balance spend on technical deliverable tasks.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

- Scrum Master across DevOps Agile Release Train
- Improvements to the Kubernetes, Kafka and ELK solutions with automation, monitoring with DevOps and Service Reliability Engineering methodologies.




- Working with developers and business SMEs on Kafka Schema standards
- Develop extensions and pipeline automation to the Microservices Platform to expand its capabilities.
- Assisting with software deployment into the ecosystem

What do I need?

- 2+ Years technology experience. Financial / Banking or Telco experience preferred.
- 2+ Years Scrum Master experience
- Possess the attention to detail, with the quality of documentation.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills to deal with business, internal resources and vendor's representatives.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Desirable Technical Skills could include:
- Experience with configuration of monitoring tools Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana
- Kubernetes and Containerisation
- Some Linux Administration Sills (RHEL / Centos)
- Linux Scripting / Ansible
- Open-Source Database tools (MySQL/PostGres)
- Atlassian development tools (Bamboo, JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket) or equivalent CI/CD tools
- Knowledge of system and network architecture design
- Code management and branching with GIT
- Has worked with and has an appreciation of:
- Agile Software development principles and methodologies.
- Software automation





Education:
- Good academic background in technology, engineering or statistical/mathematical analysis is desirable.
- Tertiary education (or close to completion)
