Position Summary

- Part time (0.4 FTE, 16 hours per week), fixed term (12-months)

The integrated model of multidisciplinary care within Cancer Services relies on a dynamic, appropriately qualified and skilled team to support patients undergoing care in both the Inpatient and Ambulatory settings, with a key focus on Integrated Wellness and Supportive Care.

At the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre, the View email address on austinhealth.mercury.com.au team includes a team of exercise physiologists, physiotherapists,



and researchers with specialised knowledge in exercise prescription for individuals with cancer undergoing cancer treatment. The View email address on austinhealth.mercury.com.au has extensive clinical and research collaborations with the medical, surgical, and supportive care staff of the ONJ centre. Our core priorities include assisting patients during the pre-surgical and post-surgical phases as well as during active treatment.

About the role

A regular day will see you:

- Provide assessments and treatment interventions for cancer outpatients in both individual and group sessions
- Receiving referrals for individual outpatients and providing appropriate evidence-based treatment
- Co-facilitating programs where appropriate
- Developing and delivering exercise-oriented programs
- Maintain some involvement in policy and planning activities

About you

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

- Tertiary qualifications in Exercise Physiology and current accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA)
- Minimum three years clinical experience as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist
- Specialist knowledge in Oncology and/or exercise prescription for individuals with chronic disease
- Demonstrated high level of organisational and excellent time management skills




- Experience in research and quality activities
